SCAS wants to thank Dr. Lynn Cominsky, professor and chair of Sonoma State University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy. Dr Cominsky's presentation was fascinating and very informative, and we are very grateful for her visit.

Sparks Program One of our goals is to fuel the imagination of young people. Each year students submit essays explaining why they want a telescope. Sonoma County Astronomical Society (SCAS) awards ten hand-crafted telescopes to those entering the best essays. For more information about the excellent program, click here

History SCAS was founded in 1974 and has about 150 members from all walks of life. We share a common interest, our love of astronomy.
